Training/Education

“Participating in the training program far exceeded my expectations. I had no experience with psychoanalysis when I joined the training program, but my inexperience was never an obstacle to my participation. I grew as a therapist, connected to a cohort full of talented clinicians looking to enhance their skills, and enjoyed the teachings of highly-qualified, experienced instructors in an accessible, intimate, small-group environment.”
– PJ, Recent Psychotherapy Graduate

The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia provides high quality education and training programs to mental health professionals, and to select professionals from other fields whose work would benefit from an understanding of psychoanalytic theory and practice. The Center’s programs include both adult and child Psychoanalytic training programs taught from a contemporary perspective; both adult and child Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy training programs; a Fellowship program offering one- and two-year fellowships to both clinical and non-clinical applicants; and Continuing Education Programs which provide a variety of opportunities for mental health clinicians to maintain and improve their clinical awareness and skills.

If you are unsure which program best fits your needs, please contact the office at 215-235-2345. We can connect you with a current student or recent graduate of one of the programs so that you are able to ask program-specific questions – questions only a student would be able to answer! Additionally, we can connect you with a program director who can go over the qualifications and requirements of each program to see which program would be most beneficial to you!
