Child Psychotherapy and Psychoanalytic Training Program Application

Applicants will be asked to complete an application form and to supply an autobiography, a case report, and a copy of their license and malpractice insurance. All information acquired during the course of the application process will be held in confidence. Accepted applicants will be asked to sign a code of ethics. An application fee of $300 can be mailed to our office. After receiving this information, an interview with one or more of the Administrative Faculty will be scheduled and the applicant will be asked to supply recommendations and transcripts as noted in the application form.

Applicant Requirements

Applicants must have either a Doctoral or Master’s degree in their field of professional training, along with licensure to practice in psychiatry, psychology, social work, or nursing, and adequate malpractice insurance. We accept applications from psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, marriage and family counselors, and school counselors. Professional experience working with children and adolescents is desirable.

 

Tuition and Funding

Child Training — $3500 (years 1 and 2, including supervision); $4500 (years 3 and 4, including supervision)
Leave of Absence: $500 per year
Affiliate (Candidate) Member Dues: $164

Tuition includes all didactic courses, supervision, continuous case seminars, the forum lectures, the Pearson Lecture, the Margaret Mahler Symposium, and the Pulver Lecture. Tuition and application fees are non-refundable.

Scholarship and Financial Aid Opportunities

In case of financial hardship, a tuition payment plan can be arranged with the treasurer through the PCOP office. Some scholarships and/or a low-interest Biddle loan are also available to assist students with the cost of tuition.
