The focus of this small group will be to share your own experiences with evocative clinical moments - moments in treatment that have provoked difficult or puzzling emotions.

The goal is to expand your understanding of psychodynamic approaches to treatment, increase your authenticity as a partner in the therapeutic process, and provide you with an experience that provokes greater clinical sensitivity. It is recommended that you are evaluating and/or treating patients while attending the group. 

When: April 4; April 11; April 18; April 25; May 2, from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Where: TBD according to group preference (either at the PCOP office or at one of the leader’s offices in Bala Cynwyd)

Cost: $200 for five sessions

Group Leaders

The group will be co-led by Suzanne Benser, MD, and Katherine Frantz, MD, both of whom are psychiatrists and psychoanalysts. They both trained in the Philadelphia area and have each been in private practice for over 20 years. Suzanne has experience working with diverse group formats, leading varied study groups, and serving as immediate past Chair of the PCOP Board. Katherine has experience working with a wide range of patients across multiple settings and has participated in group workshops, including Balint groups and PCOP group leader development.
